Encapsulation Molded Coil

Connect/Collaborate

Since 1992, Flextech has been delivering engineered foam solutions to a diverse customer base. Our team is comprised of members who are all committed to providing an exceptional level of service and responsiveness throughout our customers’ experience.

We have a core group of personnel that includes sales professionals, engineers, and support staff, many of whom have been in the foam fabrication industry for their entire careers. Our depth of experience allows us to draw from thousands of different foam fabrication projects over the years and in turn provide innovative solutions for our customers’ challenging projects. We invite you to connect and collaborate with our sales and engineering team and bring your new foam component to fruition.

Concept/Design

Whether you have a conceptual sketch or a 3D CAD model, our team will assist in the design of your new foam component. Once we understand the functional requirements of your application, we will suggest material options and the appropriate manufacturing process. We emphasize Design for Manufacturing during this phase of the development process in order to ensure your foam component is easy to manufacture, functional, and cost-effective.

Engineer/Develop

After the part design is approved, we will focus on determining which of our manufacturing processes is appropriate for your unique foam component.

Additionally, we will want to fully understand your application so that we can suggest the material options that will meet your functional and cost requirements. Determining a manufacturing process and selecting application-specific materials are both integral to the successful engineering and development of your functional foam component.

Prototype/Prove

Once the part design is solidified, the manufacturing process is determined, and the material options selected, we will design and build the prototype tooling and necessary fixtures to create your prototype parts.

Our in-house tool shop assures quick turnaround of prototype tools. We will use those tools to provide you with functional prototypes for your evaluation, testing, and approval.

Production/Delivery

After your prototype has been tested and approved and production tooling built, we are well equipped to manufacture your new foam component using an array of state-of-the-art production equipment. Our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Certification, our experienced production team members, and our advanced ERP system will assure your product quality and on-time delivery.

Project Outcome

The success of this joint product development effort between Flextech and our customer in the medical device market serves to illustrate the benefit of early collaboration when developing a new foam component.

Connecting and collaborating with Flextech in the initial stages of the device design allowed us to optimize the foam component development timeline.

Our thorough understanding of the functional and aesthetic requirements of the device early in the process gave us the information we needed to provide concepts and designs that would be of interest to our customers.

After a design was approved, we were then able to engineer and develop a manufacturing process and specify materials suitable for the device construction.

Armed with all of the information that our customer shared with us initially, we were able to minimize the number of design iterations during the prototype and prove the phase of the development cycle.

Finally, once our customer tested and approved our prototype parts, we were able to scale up our manufacturing process and produce and deliver quality coil assemblies.

Please contact Flextech if you have an idea for a new product you would like to develop or a problem you would like our sales and engineering experts to help you solve. We look forward to an opportunity to work with you.
